OPP investigate attempt abduction in Huntsville

Police say a man tried to force a 12-year-old girl into his vehicle

A disturbing incident in Huntsville.

OPP say a 12-year-old girl was on her way to school around 8:15 Thursday morning when she was approached by a man in the area of Earls Road and Muskoka Road 3 North.

Police say the man attempted to force the girl into his vehicle. She was able to get away and did not suffer any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • Approx. 30 years of age
  • Average height
  • Thin build
  • Brown hair
  • Closely shaved dark brown beard
  • Wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans

The vehicle is described as a black four-door car.

Investigators would also like to identify a female jogger, who was in the area between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and may have witnessed the incident.

Police are asking residents in the area of Earls Road and Muskoka Road 3 North with surveillance or dash cam footage between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to contact police immediately.
