
Southern Georgian Bay OPP charged two with impaired driving in Midland Saturday. One driver was impaired by drugs, the other by alcohol.
At 2:16 a.m., officers on patrol approached a vehicle attempting to reverse out of a parking lot on Hugel Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and began an impaired driving investigation.
OPP investigated further at the detachment and charged a 31-year-old man from Tay Township with two charged including impaired driving and refusal to comply.
He was released, and set to appear in court in late September. He's also facing a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

Later, at 10:46 p.m., an officer found a lone occupant of a vehicle parked in a lot on Heritage Drive. Police found they had cannabis readily available in the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, the officer brought the driver to the detachment and was assisted by an officer trained as a drug recognition expert.
Eventually, a 41-year-old from Ajax was charged with impaired driving.
They were also released and set to appear in court in September. They are also facing a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
