OPP outline charges laid in Orillia investigation

Orillia woman among the accused

A 43-year-old Orillia woman is among those arrested in a Friday evening raid on a Forest Avenue home in the city.

The others are from North York, Mississauga and York Region.

They’re facing numerous firearms-related charges. In addition, one of the accused, a 20-year-old North York man, is also charged with drug-related offences.

• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm

18-year-old from York Region:
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Breach of Youth Court Probation (four counts)
 
21-year-old from Mississauga:
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm 
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
 
23-year-old from North York:
• Unauthorized Possession for a Prohibited Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Breach of Undertaking (two counts)
 
20-year-old from North York:
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm while prohibited
• Possession of a Controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
• Possession of a Controlled substance (cocaine)
• Breach of Probation 

All of the accused have been remanded into custody pending a show cause hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
