OPP seeking dashcam footage following Township of Tay pursuit that resulted in several arrests

Police have not detailed nature of allegations against those arrested

Police have cuffed several suspects following a brief pursuit in the Township of Tay, but aren’t yet able to say why they were arrested.

An officer out of Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment was on general patrol at Highway 12 and Rosemount Road around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when they spotted an erratic vehicle hitting high speeds. Despite efforts to stop it, which included a spike belt, officers pulled back from the chase in the interest of public safety.

With help from members of the public, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle at a Midland home. Once there, police say they made several arrests, but haven’t detailed the nature of the charges laid.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about Wednesday evening’s pursuit or have dashcam video of it, to reach out by phone at 1-888-310-1122 or via email at opp.southern.georgian.bay@opp.ca.
