OPP say shotgun that fell off a pickup truck near Barrie has been turned in

Nottawasaga OPP are praising the individual who found a missing shotgun and turned it into the local police station.

“The Nottawasaga OPP extends their gratitude to the public for their co-operation and assistance in this matter. The swift response and responsible actions of the community played a crucial role in the safe recovery of the lost firearm," police stated in a news release on Friday.

The shotgun fell off a hunter's pickup truck between Barrie and the 6th Line of Essa earlier this month.

Police issued a media release about the missing firearm on Dec. 8.
