An eagled-eyed community member contacted Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Saturday afternoon about a possible impaired driver on Pine Street near Highway 12 in Waubaushene.

Police say they located the car parked next to another vehicle in a commercial parking lot off Pine Street. Both drivers were sleeping when officers arrived. They were awakened by police and detained. OPP say officers seized suspected methamphetamines, Canadian currency, aerosol cans, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Both drivers, a 31-year-old woman from Williamstown and a 36-year-old man from South Glengarry Township, were charged with impaired driving. The male was additionally charged with a drug-related offence.

The suspects were released from custody and have a court date later this month.

Their licences were suspended for 90 days and their vehicles have been impounded for seven days.
