Orillia OPP have arrested and charged one woman from Huntsville with robbery among other criminal charges after an early morning incident Saturday.

Around 1:20 a.m., police responded to a call regarding an unwanted person at a business on Atherley Road, with the complainant advising police that a patron threatened to use a weapon against them if they were not given alcohol or cigarettes. However, no weapons were utilized at the scene nor were any found on the suspect in a later search.

Police say they located the suspect upon arrival, who resisted arrest. The suspect also reportedly made comments about wanting to kill the officers involved when brought to the local detachment.

The 41-year-old woman from Huntsville is facing charges of robbery with violence, mischief, two counts of uttering threats, and resisting a peace officer.

Police say she is being held for a bail hearing set to take place in Orillia on Saturday.
