Orillia Gives Big To OPP Glove Drive

Over 900 Pairs of Gloves and $1,600 in Cash Donated

Looks like folks in Orillia know how to step up and help out.

The Orillia OPP detachment pulled off a glove drive in support of the Lighthouse Men’s Shelter. Over 900 pairs of gloves in all shapes and sizes ended up being donated, while cops say another $1600 in cash donations came in. Not to mention the hats and scarves that made it through the door.

The Lighthouse Soup Kitchen and Shelter provides services to persons in transition in Orillia and area. This includes providing hundreds of meals weekly to men, women and children; shelter for hundreds of men annually; and facilitating transitional housing programs in conjunction with other social services in Orillia. They also provide clothing to men and women in need.
