Fire crews knock down blaze at Oro-Medonte home

Nobody home, nobody injured

Nobody was hurt after a fire that did about $350,000 in damage to an Oro-Medonte home.

Fire crews were called out shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday with reports of a house fire on Highway 11 north near Line 14. Crews arrived to find flames coming from the structure’s roof. The highway was closed for several hours as crews fought the fire.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire. The blaze was knocked down at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, while crews remained on scene overnight to watch for flare-ups.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
