Police ID Pedestrian Killed in Blue Mountains Crash

Alcohol Not Believed to be A Factor in Crash

The OPP have identified the victim in Friday’s pedestrian-involved collision as Brent Smith. The 56-year-old man was pronounced deceased at hospital after police say he was struck by a vehicle late Friday evening. The investigation continues.

August 17th

Police are investigating a fatal crash in the Blue Mountains.

First responders rushed to Grey Road 19 near Jozo Weider Blvd around 10:00 last evening, with reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Police say a 61-year-old man was crossing the road when he was struck by an SUV.

The Blue Mountains man was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The OPP say that while the investigation coninues, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. No charges have yet been laid.
