Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Clearview Township

Police say the person was clipped by the mirror of the vehicle
OPP

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Clearview Township that did not remain at the scene.

OPP says this happened around 1:30 Sunday morning as the pedestrian was walking on Poplar Sideroad between the 6th Line and the Highway 26/Poplar roundabout near Collingwood. The pedestrian was clipped by the mirror of the vehicle knocking him to the ground. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle is only described as a truck travelling westbound on Poplar Sideroad. Police say it's possible the driver did not realize they hit someone as the area is very dark, and the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing at the time.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Collingwood OPP at 1-705-445-4321 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also leave an anonymous tip online at https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca/
