Two people and dog escape apartment fire in Alliston

Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in

Two people escaped an apartment fire in Alliston by exiting through a window and jumping to a nearby roof with a dog.

They were safely rescued by New Tecumseth firefighters.

Emergency crews responded to the blaze on Victoria at Paris Streets shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

The occupants of the apartment were taken to the hospital as a precaution and released a few hours later.

The Ontario Marshal has been contacted.

The cause of the fire and the damage total is unknown at this time.
