Perch in local lakes and bays get another reprieve; Orillia Perch Festival delayed again

Provincial Stay-at-Home order pushes start into early June

Organizers of the Orillia Perch Festival are determined to carry through with this year’s 40th Anniversary event.

With the provincial Stay-at-Home Order extended to June 2, they have postponed the start of the festival again, until the first Saturday after the order is lifted.

The good news, they say, is the perch are plentiful in lakes in our region year-round, and chances are this year’s festival will feature more pleasant weather than what participants are used to.

The registration portal remains open. All registrants will be notified when there is a confirmed start date.
