Barrie Police continue to search for a suspect after a man was injured during an altercation with another male downtown.
Police say officers on general patrol were alerted by bystanders around 3 p.m. Wednesday about a male suffering from a wound on his ankle.
The officers spoke with the 42-year-old Barrie resident, who told them there was an altercation between him and another man in an alley between Bayfield Street and Maple Avenue.
Police the victim was injured when a knife was thrown.
He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Barrie Police say an altercation downtown Wednesday afternoon left one person injured after a knife was thrown.
Police say the call came in around 3 p.m., involving two individuals. A communications spokesperson says, "it wasn't a stabbing as such," but that it appears a knife was thrown striking and injuring the victim.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
Reports suggest the incident happened in the area of Dunlop Street and Bayfield Street, also known as The Five Points.
Police say no one is in custody and the investigation remains ongoing.
