All-clear sounded by police following bomb threat at Orillia City Centre

Residents in the area were evacuated as a precaution

Roads have reopened around the Orillia City Centre after being evacuated Thursday morning because of a bomb scare.

Police conducted an intensive search of the area.

The OPP Explosive Disposal Unit attended and determined there was no threat.

Residents who were evacuated have been allowed to return.

City of Orillia offices will remain closed and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022. Other city facilities are open.

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit will be continuing the investigation and request that anyone who observed suspicious behaviour in the area, please contact the Orillia Detachment at 1-705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122.
