South Simcoe Police are appealing for witnesses as a result of a crash that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man from Bradford.

At around 7:30 Friday evening, police received a report of a pickup truck involved in a single-vehicle collision in the area of Walker Avenue and the 6th Line of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Police determined the lone male failed to stop for a stop sign at Walker Avenue. The truck went through the 3-way intersection, breached a guardrail and came to rest on Morris Road.

Police, fire and paramedics treated the driver at the scene, but he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators say speed, alcohol use and seatbelt use are some of the factors being looked into as a cause for the crash.
