Police Lay Spike Belt To Stop Wrong Way Driver on 400 Near Parry Sound

Quebec Man Facing Impaired Driving Charge

A Quebec man is facing a few charges after police say not only was he driving the wrong way on the 400, he was doing so while drunk.

West Parry Sound OPP got the call Sunday about a suspected impaired driver, and when police caught up to the suspect vehicle, they say it was heading south in northbound lanes through McDougall Township.

A spike belt was used to stop the vehicle, after which, a 33-year-old Notre Dame Du Nord, Quebec man was taken into custody. He was charged with Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, And Failure to Provide a Breath Sample.

He will be in Parry Sound court early next month to answer to charges.
