Police probing door-to-door interactions that raised more questions than answers

Suspicious incidences reported in Alliston and Wasaga Beach

Police are probing some suspicious incidences over the past few days after getting calls about a pair knocking on doors in the area.

The first call came in of a pair of suspicious men in Alliston on January 18; a homeowner told police they confronted a man in their driveway who claimed to be conducting a survey in the area. However, the man took off while being questioned by the resident, fleeing in a waiting SUV.

Three separate calls came in from Wasaga Beach on January 19 of a suspicious pair going door-to-door. Callers told police a man, holding a clipboard, knocked on their doors and asked if the vehicle parked in the driveway was for sale.

The man knocking on doors is described as a white male in his 30’s, with blonde hair and a slim build. He was wearing a turtleneck-type mask and a Roots hoodie.

The man driving the SUV is described as an older male, with a black and grey beard, and glasses. His vehicle is described as a white or cream SUV, possibly a Ford Edge.

Anyone with information about these incidences is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
