Police probing suspicious death at East Gwillimbury shelter

Hilton Rock of Newmarket was found unresponsive at the Blue Door Shelter

Police are investigating the death of a man at a shelter in East Gwillimbury, calling the circumstances suspicious.

Around 1:45 a.m. Monday, York Regional Police were called to the Blue Door Shelter on Highway 11 with reports of an injured man. Officers arrived to find him unresponsive and was later pronounced deceased at hospital.

Investigators have identified the man as 51-year-old Hilton Rock of Newmarket.
