A peaceful conclusion to a four-hour standoff at a residence on Pearl Drive in Orillia.

Around 11:30 on Sunday night, the OPP responded to a barricaded person inside a home who was making threats and refused to leave the residence.

Officers cordoned off the area for public safety, and with the assistance of a crisis negotiator, the Central Region Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine and the Tactics and Rescue Unit, police were able to end the standoff.

The person was transported to an area hospital for further assessment and support.
