“Honk if you love your library”  

One of the many signs that could be spotted outside the Barrie Public Library’s downtown branch Tuesday afternoon, as some turned out to rally against proposed cuts to services.

Earlier this month, it was announced provincial budget cuts would mean the end of an Interlibrary Loan Delivery Service as the Southern Ontario Library Service struggled to cut $1.5 million from its $3 million budget. This meant the loss of 24 full, part time, and occasional jobs.

The Barrie Public Library has a petition set up at its front desk, and as of mid-afternoon Tuesday, it had about 200 signatures.
