Province-wide COVID-19 case count surpasses 19,000 with over 70 percent recovered

Simcoe-Muskoka case count rises to 353

Public Health Ontario has added another 399 cases of COVID-19 to the province-wide caseload of 19,121.

Of those, 13,569 people have recovered, another 347 since yesterday. Another 48 lives lost, 1,477 to date.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit confirmed the addition of nine new cases of COVID-19 within our region. Three more recoveries over yesterday.

To date, the province has run nearly 381,000 tests; over 15,000 tests were done a day prior, while just over 13,000 results have yet to come back from labs.

The province reports 174 outbreaks in long-term care homes across Ontario, including several in the Barrie area.
