pre-book provincial park permits at parks like Algonquin

If you're planning a summer escape to one of Ontario’s stunning provincial parks, be sure to book your permits in advance.

Ontario Parks is reminding visitors that daily vehicle permits can be reserved online up to five days in advance at 88 participating provincial parks. With July 1st and the rest of summer’s long weekends fast approaching, these popular parks are expected to reach full capacity — especially during peak days like Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Want to camp instead? Try midweek

Weekend camping at Ontario’s top parks may be a challenge — but weekdays are a different story. While many parks are 100% booked on weekends, midweek availability is much more flexible.

Great midweek camping options include:

  • Darlington and Bronte Creek, just outside the GTA
  • Balsam Lake, Murphys Point, and Rideau River in Southeastern Ontario
  • Turkey Point, Selkirk, and Craigleith in Southwestern Ontario
