Public Health Ontario confirms bump in new cases as it adds 446

Rise in new cases comes after a week of numbers in the 300-range or lower

A jump in new cases added today, as Public Health Ontario adds another 446 to its caseload. There were 404 yesterday, and numbers in the 300-range for nearly a week before that.

Over 28,700 cases have been confirmed to date, while over 78% are recoveries; 331 more people have recovered since yesterday’s update. Seventeen more lives were lost since Public Health updated its numbers yesterday, 2,293 to date.

Health officials report just over 15,000 tests were run to get yesterday’s results, but over 10,000 in backlog.
