There could be some serious puddle jumping thanks to leftovers from what was once Hurricane Beryl.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for a wide area of southern Ontario that includes parts of Muskoka, Barrie, Orillia, Simcoe County, the Greater Toronto area and west to Grey County and east to Haliburton.
"Periods of heavy rainfall associated with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl will affect portions of southern Ontario beginning overnight or Wednesday morning. Although confidence in the exact track of the weather system remains somewhat uncertain, these type of systems in the past have given very high rainfall rates in torrential downpours" according to the weather office. "Rainfall amounts will likely be highly variable across the region, and some areas may receive in excess of 60 mm. Conditions should improve Thursday."
The weather office said torrential downpours could give rainfall rates of 20 to 40 mm per hour at times.
