Jason Helmond needs a haircut.
Needs one badly.
The 32-year-old Special Olympian is getting his head shaved Saturday (May 27) to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation.
It's the fifth year of his Razors of Hope campaign, and he's hoping to raise $20,000.
Jason wasn't born when Terry launched his Marathon of Hope in 1980, but, like so many others, learned about him in elementary school. "A good friend of mine, John Thompson, got me interested in learning about Terry, and he's been my hero since."
Losing two of his grandparents has also driven Jason to add the Terry Fox Foundation to his list of causes.
There are two ways you can help him reach his goal - stop by the Barrie city hall rotunda between 10:30 a.m.and 1 p.m. Saturday - where he, his dad and some firefighters will be getting their heads shaved; or click here to make a donation on the Terry Fox Foundation website in the name of the Razors of Hope.
