RVH expanding visitor policy as province moves into step two of roadmap to reopen

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is updating its visitor policy as the province prepares to move into Step Two.

With COVID-19 case counts declining, and with the province moving into the next step of its Roadmap to Reopen on Wednesday, RVH is expanding the number of visitors and the frequency of their visits. As of June 30, patients will be able to appoint two designated visitors, and those not on the list will not be permitted in. All admitted patients will be allowed only one visitor at a time for one hour per visit, twice per week.

Visits must be pre-booked no later than 6 a.m. on the day of the visit, and must be arranged through the inpatient unit directly. Visitors must be over the age of 16 and must pass COVID screening upon entry.

Visitation hours on inpatient units are between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., while visitation hours on the mental health units are between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week.
