RVH to resume more services as the number of new COVID-19 cases declines in the region; three reported on Thursday

Hospital to reopen Simcoe entrance to allow easier access to outpatient clinics

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is continuing its gradual resumption of some services as the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to decline in North Simcoe and Muskoka.

Services expected to resume include cardiac, paediatric, medicine, some imaging, mental health, and renal services. The hospital will also reopen the clinics at both the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre in Innisfil.

Effective Tuesday, August 4, RVH will reopen its lower level Simcoe entrance, as the majority of its outpatient clinics are located near it. Patients will be advised before they arrive on which entrance is appropriate.

Patients and their support person will be screened upon arrival, and it is requested a clean face mask be worn.

On Thursday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit confirmed three new cases of COVID-19.
