The City of Orillia says the price for a ticket to ride is going up in 2019.
The cash fare to ride the bus in Orillia will increase by a quarter to $2.50. This decision came out of the budget process, in order to maintain transit service levels.
“The City has invested significantly in Orillia Transit with six new buses, including a specialized transit bus, and added a new route in order to provide better service and accommodate growth,” said Mayor Steve Clarke. “As part of the ongoing improvements being made to the transit system, we are increasing fares slightly.”
This will also affect bulk ticket fees, while updated rate schedules and route maps are available on the City’s website and are available for pick up throughout the City.
