Search warrants executed in counterfeit merchandise probe in Wasaga Beach

U.S. Homeland Security among the agencies that assisted in joint investigation

Huronia West OPP executed several search warrants in the area of Beach Drive and First Street in Wasaga Beach on Friday as part of an ongoing counterfeit merchandise investigation.

The public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

Police say this was a joint investigation between members of the Huronia West Crime Unit of the OPP and the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network, with assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security (USDHS) and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

There is no threat to public safety.
