Sexual assault charge laid in connection to Alliston medical centre, police urge other victims to come forward

Sexual assault charges have been laid against a man associated with a medical facility in Alliston.

A woman told Nottawasaga OPP she was assaulted Tuesday, March 9 during a procedure at the facility.

Thirty-five-year-old Ankur Sharma of Brampton has been charged with Sexual Assault. He previously worked as a medical technologist in the Windsor area.

“The members of the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit work with victims to encourage reporting of serious crimes,” said the Detective Sergeant Sarah Vance of the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit. “Victim impact and understanding is a primary goal when investigating a crime against a person. Officers are committed to assisting victims during what is often the worst experience of their lives, providing support throughout criminal investigations and pending court proceedings.”
