Naheem Davidson came off the bench to hit a clutch late bucket to give Sheridan a come-from-behind 104-101 OCAA men's basketball round of 16 win over Georgian on Michele McConney Court on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams were plagued by foul trouble throughout the game each totaling 25 personal fouls, with Sheridan having three players foul out. That forced Davidson back into the game in the final minute.
Jason Sache led Georgian with 26 points, with 20 of them coming in the second half.
All of Sheridan's starters scored in the double digits with Edward Liu leading the way with 20. Both Cole Miller and Travis Clouden fouled out, but not before securing double-doubles. Clouden alone had 15 rebounds to go with his 17 points.
Georgian had eight fouls alone in the first quarter, including three committed by Elijah Lyttleton. Its only disqualification was Zere Christie.
Despite the foul trouble, Georgian came out of the first quarter up by six thanks to starting out five-for-seven from beyond the arc. Sheridan missed 10 threes in the opening 10 minutes.
Georgian got into the bonus in the second quarter as well, but not without an argument from head coach Chad Bewley, who earned a technical foul with 2:36 left after insisting the officials were making one-sided calls.
At the time, the Grizzlies had five fouls to the Bruins' one, and Liam Holmes had just been leveled off the ball near the foul line moments before Sheridan went to the line for two shots.
Uzziah Glasgow came alive off the bench for Georgian in the second quarter, scoring 11 on five-of-seven shooting from the field, including a strong putback at the rim which he was fouled on. He finished with 12 points and three rebounds.
His strong frame was in stark contrast to Sheridan, which had no bench scoring in the first half.
After lots of bench support early, Georgian starters took on the brunt of the scoring and stayed out of the bonus in the third, aided by Sheridan's early foul trouble.
However, the three-ball started landing for the Bruins, which kept them in it. Liu was four-for-six from deep in the third and added another three in the first possession of the fourth, finishing five-for-10. Across the second half, the visiting team was 10-for-20 on three-point attempts.

Sheridan was also aided by 13 points off turnovers in the third, after Georgian doubled its turnover total from the first half (8), and had a dozen in the final 20 minutes.
After Georgian led by as many as 14 with 3:30 left in the second quarter, the Bruins retook the lead just over two minutes into the fourth. It was the first lead change of five in a tight and fast-paced final frame.
Up two with 2:50 left to play in regulation, Sheridan once again got into the bonus, but Georgian
With 18.5 seconds remaining, Georgian led by one, but Sache travelled in the paint, the fourth such call on him in the second half.

On the next possession, despite some tight defence from Tristan Wright that nearly led to a steal, Davidson sank a turnaround jumper to go up one with 12.6 seconds to go.
Sean Marseille missed a floater short in the final seconds, with Sheridan's Tyrell Dennis essentially clinching the victory with two subsequent free throws.
As a team, Sheridan outrebounded Georgian 53-42, but were outscored in the paint 56-28.
Georgian's men finished the regular season atop the OCAA East with a 14-4 record and entered the playoffs having won seven of its last nine games since the calendar flipped to 2026.
The Grizzlies have never won an OCAA men's basketball championship, nor have they played in the conference title game.

UP NEXT
Sheridan advances to face Loyalist or Lambton next weekend in the quarterfinal round.
WOMEN
Georgian's women's basketball team opened their OCAA postseason on the road against St. Clair, but was eliminated following a 79-70 loss.
Sydney Shawyer led all scorers with 25 points and had nine rebounds, but Georgian got just six points from the bench.
Meanwhile, Kaylen Batten led St. Clair with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and the Saints had two reserves score in the double digits.
The Grizzlies finished the regular season 7-7, good enough for fifth in the conference's East division.
