
A shoplifting complaint Thursday in Gravenhurst has led to multiple charges against two by Bracebridge OPP.
At 2:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft from a licensed retailer located on Edward Street, of which the staff was quick to gather key information.
Police eventually located the involved vehicle at a service centre on Highway 11 North and charged two.
A 35-year-old man from Haliburton was given five various charges, including:
- Theft under $5,000
- Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
- Obstruct peace officer
- Driving while under suspension
- Operate motor vehicle without insurance
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor.
Also, a 37-year-old woman from Highland Grove was charged for firearm possession, obstructing a peace officer, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Both were held in custody and will appear in court Friday in Bracebridge.
