Simcoe County man gets more bang for his buck

Anthony was on his way to the bank when he decided to check his ticket

News release from OLG

Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Anthony Baratta of Everett. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the exact order in the May 30, 2023 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000.

Anthony, a 36-year-old carpenter, said he started playing the lottery a few years ago. He enjoys playing LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, LOTTARIO, ENCORE and INSTANT tickets. This is his first big win.

Anthony was on his way to the bank when he decided to stop and check his ticket. “Before I checked it, I had a feeling I was going to win,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. Anthony scanned his ticket and discovered that his intuition was correct. “When I saw the number of zeroes, I had to check it again,” he said. “I guess I was at the right place at the right time!”

He then called his girlfriend and brother to share the exciting news. “My brother believed me immediately and was ecstatic.”

With his winnings, Anthony plans to manage his finances. He looks forward to celebrating this win and enjoying the security that comes along with it. “I’m so happy – winning has been a 10 out of 10 experience,” he concluded.
