An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer did not buy a Nottawasaga man's excuse as to why he was allegedly speeding on Highway 401.

Police clocked his vehicle doing 175 km/h on Friday.

In a post on X, OPP said the 24-year- old claimed that "My water bottle rolled under my gas pedal, that's why I was speeding 175."

He was charged with stunt driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
