Simcoe-Grey MPP Back at Queen’s Park

Jim Wilson Sitting as Independent

Jim Wilson was back in the Ontario Legislature, albeit in a different seat.

The MPP sat as an independent Tuesday, the first day officials were back in session following the winter break. Wilson was ousted from the PC party last year over allegations of sexual misconduct but says he was never questioned over these allegations as part of any investigation. Instead, the Simcoe-Grey MPP thanked constituents for their patience and understanding as he dealt with issues of alcoholism.

“As many of you may know, it has been a difficult few months for me on a personal level, and I first and foremost would like to take this opportunity to thank you, my constituents, for supporting me every step of the way. “

Premier Doug Ford could be seen shaking Wilson’s hand as he sat down in the legislature Tuesday.

In a statement, Wilson says he will continue to prioritise the redevelopments of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, as well as STevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.
