Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is probing an incident Friday night in Penetanguishene in which a 28-year-old man was injured.

OPP had responded to a domestic situation on Church Street where officers determined a man was in mental distress.

Attempts to apprehend him, including the use of anti-riot weapons, were unsuccessful.

The stand-off ended several hours later when police say the man set the house on fire.

His injuries were not considered serious.
