A Huntsville OPP officer has been found to have done nothing wrong by the province’s Special Investigations Unit that caused or contributed to the crash of car in August 2019 that injured two people.
The SIU said the officer was manning a RIDE checkpoint in Huntsville when he signaled the driver of a car to stop. Instead, the driver sped off, almost striking the officer. The officer initiated a pursuit for a brief time before ending the chase.
Soon after, the car crashed into a parked vehicle resulting in injuries to the 32 year old male driver and his 24 year old female passenger.
