Six months in, 40% of Canadians still buying their pot illegally
Men twice as likely as women to use marijuana
When the feds decided to legalize pot it was partly in the hope of taking it out of the hands of the black market.
And it has.
To a degree.
Stats Canada has found four in ten Canadians are still getting theirs illegally.
Price is a consideration for a third of users; three-quarters said quality and safety are top of mind when they buy.
The survey also found men twice as likely as women to use marijuana and women more likely to consume edibles or use pot-based products like skin creams.
Women were also more likely to get pot for free from family and friends.
