Six people facing over a hundred criminal charges following Midland-area police pursuit

Confirmation of charges laid comes following call from investigators for police pursuit dashcam footage

The Southern Georgian Bay OPP says six people were arrested after a vehicle was chased through the Township of Tay to a home in Midland.

The OPP issued a call last week for witnesses or dashcam footage to a brief pursuit around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday that resulted in several arrests but did not detail the nature of the crimes at the time. Police have since reported that six people were arrested following the chase, and face a combined 130 criminal charges.

Investigators say illicit drugs and weapons were seized from a Midland home, including a 45-calibre handgun, a fully loaded sawed-off shotgun, crossbows, long guns, cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.

Those charged hail from Barrie, Collingwood, York, French River, and Elliot Lake. Their ages range from 27 to 38. All six were held in custody to attend virtual bail court in Midland.
