Some of Innisfil’s outdoor amenities to reopen Saturday morning, including off-leash dog areas, picnic sites

Splashpads, public washrooms, not open yet

The warm weather won’t be squandered in Innisfil, as the Town is prepared to reopen a few amenities.

As of Saturday, May 23rd, Innisfil Town Hall says it will reopen outdoor sports facilities and multi-use fields, as well as off-leash dog areas, and outdoor picnic sites. Benches and shelters at park and recreation areas will also be available for use, but the Town points out physical distancing of at least two metres is required.

“We’re excited to reopen some of our recreation spaces so residents can enjoy the outdoors and warm weather,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “It’s important that everyone continues to be responsible by keeping a safe distance from others, and following public health measures and posted signage. We all have to work together to protect our community.”

Caution tape and barricades are already being removed from these areas, while new signage is being installed. Inspection of outdoor areas continues to maintain safety, municipal washroom will remain closed until at least June.

Innisfil’s boat launch reopened last Saturday, May 16th.

While the sun is expected to shine all weekend, the Town says splash pads will remain closed until later stages of the province’s plan to reopen amenities. Outdoor playgrounds and fitness equipment throughout Innisfil will reopen according to this plan as well.
