South Simcoe Police charge two drivers with impaired in about an hour

Everett man and Innisfil woman both charged

South Simcoe Police charged two separate motorists with impaired driving in Innisfil Wednesday evening, in the span of an hour.

The first call came in around 7 p.m.; a citizen reported seeing a vehicle strike several mailboxes in the area of Gilford and Beach Roads, before pulling over to the wrong side of the road where the caller told police it appeared the driver passed out. Police arrived on scene to charge a 27-year-old Everett man with driving while impaired by drugs and dangerous driving. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

Right around 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the area of Jans Boulevard and Innisfil Beach Road, where a witness says they spied a vehicle having trouble leaving a driveway. The witness told police the vehicle made several failed attempts to back out of a driveway before it struck a tree, a parked vehicle, and a house. A 41-year-old Innisfil woman is now facing drunk driving charges.
