The South Simcoe Police Service is announcing funeral arrangements for Constables Morgan Russell and Devon Michael Northrup.
The following arrangements have been finalized in partnership with the officers' families:
Funeral:
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Sadlon Arena, located at 555 Bayview Drive, Barrie, Ontario.
Members of the public are invited to observe the funeral procession as it travels from the Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Services Ltd (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) and the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes (30 Worsley Street, Barrie) to the Sadlon Arena.
While we appreciate the public’s support, the funeral is not open to the public, but will include other police services and emergency service personnel.
Broadcast information and further details about the funeral and procession route will be provided to the media and public in the coming days, including confirmation of pool media and staging for the day.
Private Visitation:
Private visitations for Constables Russell and Northrup are taking place for family, friends and colleagues the day prior to the funeral and will not be open to media or the public. Media may situate across the street from the funeral homes, but are not permitted inside. We request that media not approach family or Service members attending so they may pay their respects in private.
