One man charged, another being sought after report of stabbing in Bradford

Police say it was a 'hate-related assault'

South Simcoe police say they have charged one man and another is being sought after a "hate-related assault with a weapon" in Bradford.

On Sunday, June 4, around 2:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at a restaurant on Holland Street West. Police say two men were assaulted by two suspects.

One of the victims, a 22-year-old Bradford man, was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim, a 32-year-old Bradford man, did not require medical attention.

"A suspect was arrested at the scene and a second suspect is being sought," officers wrote in a release. "Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and do not believe there is a threat to public safety."

A 23-year-old Bradford man was charged with assault and assault with a weapon.
