South Simcoe Police investigating an organized shoplifting ring

$200 worth of jackets stolen

South Simcoe Police is investigating the theft of 20 jackets worth $200 each from a store within the Tanger Outlet mall in Cookstown.

Police say this was an organized shoplifting ring.

Around 2:30 on Saturday, Nov, 27, investigators say two males and a female were seen entering the store followed a short time later by another male and female that were pushing a child’s stroller. Once inside the store, police say the group worked together to steal a large quantity of outerwear.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.

Police are investigating if any other stores in the mall were hit.
