Stolen Vehicle Getaway Caught on Police Dashcam
Police Say Driver Was Sleeping Behind the Wheel of a Stolen Vehicle
It’s a foregone conclusion the stolen vehicle York Regional Police are looking for has front end damage… after all, the crash was caught on camera.
Police came upon a running vehicle in a Newmarket parking lot around 6:00 Tuesday evening, claiming the driver was asleep behind the wheel.
After speaking with the driver, dashcam video shows the driver try to flee, but not before striking a police cruiser in the process.
It was later discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in a warm-up theft in Vaughan back on Feburary 8th.
The suspect is described as:
- Male, brown
- 40 to 55 years
- Wearing a white t-shirt, black jacket and a red hat
The stolen vehicle is a 2019 grey Honda Ridgeline with licence plate number AC90002.
