Several streets briefly closed for Barrie police investigation

Police say there does not appear to be a threat to public safety

Barrie police say an investigation remains ongoing after several streets in the area of Maple Avenue and Ross Street were briefly closed early Tuesday afternoon.

"Based on the information that was received, uniform members and the tactical support unit responded," according to an email from police.

Police went on to say that there does not appear to be a threat to public safety and no one has been taken into custody.

Roads in the area have reopened.
