SGB OPP nab a pair of stunt drivers on Highway 400

A Southern Georgian Bay OPP officer nabbed a pair of stunt drivers over three days on Highway 400.

On Friday afternoon, the first catch was a pickup truck clocked doing 160 km/h in a 100-k zone. The vehicle was safely pulled over in the Honey Harbour area. Police say the officer noticed there was open alcohol in the vehicle, so that was added to the investigation.

A 22-year-old Parry Sound man with a novice driver's licence was charged with stunt driving, speeding, colour coating obscuring the interior of the motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle with open liquor and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

The pickup truck was towed from the highway and impounded for 14 days and his driver's licence was suspended for 30 days.

Then late Sunday morning, a Honda CRV caught the eye of the same cop, who clocked the vehicle at 154 km/h on Highway 400 near Go Home Lake.
