Stunt Driving, Fail to remain charges laid in Innisfil

Separate incidences involving South Simcoe Police

A vehicle damaged in a crash was left where it was and now a woman is facing charges because of it.

South Simcoe Police officers were called to the 20th Sideroad and Lormel Gate in Innisfil with reports of a suspicious abandoned vehicle. Officers arrived to find a car with significant damage that had mounted the curb and was left there.

Police located the driver at a nearby home. A 28-year-old woman was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a crash and had her license suspended for three days after police say she registered a warning on a breathalyzer test.

Meanwhile, a 61-year-old man will be walking for a bit after police seized his vehicle and his license for a week. South Simcoe Police say he was clocked at hitting 114 kilometres an hour in a 50 zone along Highway 27 in Innisfil around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.

A stunt driving charge carries an automatic seven-day license suspension and vehicle seizure.
