Sudbury boy found safe in Toronto after Amber Alert issued

Had not been returned to his legal guardian on Monday as planned

A three-year-old-boy was found safe this morning in Toronto after police in Sudbury had issued an Amber Alert for him.

Police say he and his mother (who is not his legal guardian) were dropped off at a Sudbury Mall around noon Monday. He was to have been returned to his grandmother at the end of the day. She called the police when he had not been dropped off.

That triggered an Amber Alert at 5 am today.

It was cancelled when the boy and his mother were found safe, three hours later, near Fort York in Toronto.

The investigation continues.
